Privacy Policy

Effective July 3, 2026

FrictionKiller is private by architecture: analysis runs on your iPhone by default, the optional smart layer is transient by design, and nothing about you is tracked, profiled, or sold.

The short version

The reviews you paste never leave your iPhone for structural analysis.
Smart runs send only distilled themes and a few short quotes — processed once, stored never.
No tracking, no ads, no analytics SDKs, no data brokers, no sale of data. Ever.
You can delete your account and your data in the app, any time.

On this iPhone

Splitting, clustering, severity, and friction scores run entirely on your device. Free, unlimited, works offline. Nothing is uploaded. Your pasted reviews and your results are stored only in the app, on your iPhone.

In the cloud, transiently

Smart runs send only distilled themes and a few quotes — processed once, stored never. Results come back to your device.

What we collect, and why

1. Account data (only if you sign in)

You can use structural analysis with no account at all. Signing in — required only for the smart layer and purchases — uses Sign in with Apple. We receive and store:

Email address — the one Apple shares (which may be Apple's private relay address if you choose "Hide My Email").
Name — optional; only if you share it at first sign-in.
Account identifiers — your Apple sign-in identifier and the random account ID we create for you.

These exist so your credits and subscription belong to you across devices. They are used for nothing else.

2. Purchases and credits

Payments are processed entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details. Our server keeps your credit balance, your subscription status, and App Store transaction identifiers so purchases can be verified and credited exactly once, and so refunds are honored.

3. Smart runs (the only user content that ever leaves your device)

When you explicitly run a smart analysis, the app sends the distilled themes and up to three short quotes per theme — not your full pasted text. Our server forwards that to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the explanation and fix, returns the result to your device, and keeps nothing. This content is:

processed transiently — it is never stored on our servers;
not linked to your identity in any stored form;
processed under a zero-data-retention configuration with our AI provider and not used to train models.

4. Usage counters

The server keeps content-free counters per account (for example, how many smart credits you've used) to run the credit system. No review content is in them.

What we don't do

No tracking across apps or websites, and no tracking domains.
No advertising, ad networks, or attribution SDKs.
No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs — in fact, no third-party SDKs at all.
No selling, renting, or sharing personal data for anyone else's purposes.

Service providers

We use three processors, strictly to run the service:

Retention and deletion

Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, credits, and sign-in from our servers and revokes the Apple sign-in token. Transaction records are kept only in de-identified form (no longer linked to you) because payment integrity requires each purchase to be credited exactly once.
Delete your local data in the app: Settings → Delete All Local Data removes every analysis stored on your iPhone. Local analyses are yours and live only on your device, so account deletion intentionally leaves them alone until you delete them.
Account data is retained only while your account exists.

Security

All traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Sessions use short-lived tokens with rotating refresh tokens, stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. Purchases are verified server-side against Apple before anything is credited.

Children

FrictionKiller is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be called out in the app.
